Mobile journalism (MOJO) is changing the way stories are told. While some antiquated, traditional journalists are opposed to the change, many more are supportive of it. MOJO has come and is staying.
The fact that mobile journalism is here to stay does not mean that traditional forms of reporting will be replaced in the future. Since they are still distinct from one another and each has advantages, they can coexist. Many media outlets have added MOJO to their workflow in addition to their traditional reporting.
On April 25th, a group of journalism students from Ndejje University, Luweero campus received the MOJO training from our head of training, Antonio Kisembo. They learnt how to shoot, edit, and create compelling stories using their smartphones as portable studios.
