The 8th Annual Leisure and Hospitality Day 2017, was organized last Friday by the Makerere University Business School (MUBS) Bachelors of Leisure and Hospitality Management students with the intention of showcasing skills in various fields like catering, fashion and design.
The event hosted at the MUBS main campus in Nakawa, lived up to the hype with a number of memorable acts like musical performances from artistes like B2C, Sheebah, Coco Finger and veteran Acholi artiste Dj Languna.

The fashion run away modeling treated the audience to the latest designs from renowned designers Sylvia Owori, and Abbas Kaijuka whose designs were exhibited by professional model Ronnie Volts and a score of student models.
On the occasion of receiving awards, The VCL films Director, Sam Bagenda alias Dr. Bbosa who was also the keynote speaker advised students to strive hard and dare to work on their dreams by following a four word pattern to achieve success that highlighted the importance of prayer, persistence and passion.
The Hospitality day also took the opportunity to award different acts in fields like music, tourism, media and other arts which saw artiste B2CK, events promoter Balaam Barugahara, and the Uganda Tourism Board walk away with awards.
While lauding the efforts of the organisers of the Leisure and Hospitality management day , The Media Challenge Initiative General Manager, Simon Ssenyondo said: “it was a great opportunity to partner with MUBS to empower the youth in order to realize vision 2040 with special emphasis of skilling the youth. So it was important for us to support this great cause that is aligned with the Academy’s objective of skilling responsible youth with practical skills”.
