THE MEDIA CHALLENGE AWARDS
Media awarding Students|Students awarding media
The Media Challenge Awards are organised by The Media Challenge Initiative as a means of identifying, honoring and celebrating individuals and organizations doing exceptional work in the media industry in Uganda. The awards ceremony will take place in December. The high profile Media Challenge Gala bring together media students and media practitioners. The Media Challenge awards are only open to students studying Media in Uganda.
Recognition is not about pomp and glamour, pure recognition comes from people who understand the dos and don’ts of your trade and they know what it means to be excellent because they dream to be exactly that. This is why these awards are only open to media students
The Inter-Institutional Media Challenge
Since 2012, Global Media Enterprise has been hosting the Inter-institutional Media Challenge (IMC). IMC is a media platform that brings together journalism students to compete and showcase their skills. In this challenge, students are tasked to replicate real life scanarios that take place in the TV newsroom by forming news teams and producing a news bulletin. The best two students are then chosen to work with NTV Uganda for a year.
The Awards Night
The Media Awards event will bring both media students and practitioners together to celebrate progressive strides, new leadership and growth in Ugandan media. The official theme for this year’s awards is Media Awarding Students & Students Awarding Media. This event will also provide students with a chance to meet and network with their role models.

Our in house nomination council shall nominate the individuals and programs that fit in the designated categories based on the scope of each individual’s field of work
Voting for the various categories will be done online via mciug.org
Who is eligible to vote?
